The Cookie Monster

Today, the girls and I were assigned the task of making cookies for my grandmother’s memorial service tomorrow. We opted to make her favorite cookie of all time… No Bake Cookies.

(Sorry for the blurriness of the photos, my oldest girl is still learning how to take shots properly.)

No Bake #1 No Bake #2 No Bake #3No bake cookies are the easiest cookie in the world and taste absolutely delicious. With my girls’ help, we were done in no time.

No Bake Cookies

Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 stick butter
1/2 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 cups oatmeal
Waxed paper

Directions:
In a heavy saucepan bring to a boil, the sugar, cocoa, butter and milk. Let boil for 1 minute then add peanut butter, vanilla and oatmeal. On a sheet of waxed paper, drop mixture by the teaspoonfuls, until cooled and hardened.

See how easy that was?

Now… off to visit with some family from out-of-town, before all the madness tomorrow might bring.

If you had to pick a favorite cookie, which would it be?

  1. Yum! Love those. Sorry for the loss of your grandmother. My Grandpa died in 2001 and I still miss him and wish he was nearby to make me feel special.

  2. So sorry for your loss. I had to smile at the pictures none the less. Our families favorite is no-bake as well; we make them with peanut butter rather than cocoa. Either way, they are so yummy! Hope your week holds some joy as you meet with family, and remember those things that are most precious!
