Destination: Guatemala

GuatemalaToday’s virtual field trip was to Guatemala. It was great spending a little more time exploring the Mayan culture and history.

After marking our travel maps, we watched a neat video on Guatemala and read a little about the country’s history.

For our craft, we created beautiful kites out of paper plates and tissue paper. (The original concept came from 4 Crazy Kings.) What a neat and simple idea!

If you’re looking for an excuse to be creative in the kitchen, HERE is a great recipe you might want to try for Pan de Coco. This is a simple coconut bread, which the family might find refreshing and tasty, especially during the summer months.

With a portion of our learning day behind us, we are now off to spend some time outdoors, in the sun and water. Pool time!

  1. This is awesome. I went to Guatemala last November on a mission trip and it is very close to my heart. I will be going back again in December and taking my 12 year old daughter with me. I would love to share photos I took along the way if you are interested.
