We’re always looking for fun activities to enjoy with the kids. It’s a bonus if we can tie in an educational aspect to the fun. A week ago, my sister-in-law shared an incredible activity we couldn’t wait to try. It was such a blast, we thought we’d share it with you!
Surprisingly, this project was very simple. The kids were able to complete the instructions entirely on their own. We tested out various options, and enjoyed the fun.
What you’ll need:
a piece of acetate or plastic bottle top
an iPod or iPhone
Watch the following video and learn how to explore hologram fun!
Holography is a photographic technique that records the light scattered from an object, and then presents it in a way that appears three-dimensional. If you enjoyed this activity, you can read more about the fascinating science of holograms at LIVE SCIENCE.
While all hologram images would be fun to try, may we humbly suggest finding the Princess Leia hologram video. Because who doesn’t love Star Wars?
Chime In!: Did you try the hologram experiment? Share your results with us, and which holograms you chose to explore.
