Well, officially, it was an afternoon and not a night, but all the same… Our PSP had a BBQ to celebrate the coming year. We ate, we threw water balloons, and we had cake! A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
While not everyone was able to attend, we had a great turnout. It was a lovely afternoon, if a bit warmer than it had been the previous few days. It was nice getting to know one of our newest families to join in.
This looks to be a fun year. It will be a blessing to see what the coming year holds for us all.
Looks like you had a ton of fun. Seems like a great way to start the year.

OK…at the risk of sounding stupid, I still don’t know what are you talking about. Is it homeschooling?

There are few stupid questions in the world and this is NOT one of them.
A PSP is basically homeschooling, but you are not the one filing a private school affidavit, an organization or group is filing on your behalf. They usually also handle other areas of organization besides paperwork such as park days, field trips, and more.
We do all our own book purchasing, teaching, and that kind of stuff; they just handle the filing and allow us the opportunity to hang out with other like minded families. Ours is run through our church.
Great question!

That sounds like a great opportunity. In Illinois, homeschooling has the same status as a private school. No need for paperwork.

Here, no matter what, you have to file paperwork. Even if you chose not to have someone else file on your behalf, you have to file a private school affidavit; its free, but has to be done by the 15th of October of every year.
Technically, in our state, no one “homeschools”; we all have private school status, just with smaller numbers of students.
